Tony’s shortlist
Fat Tony’s AI picks
1. Shamel Express
Heavy-track grinder, boss; rock-solid 1600m form and drawn to get the right drag into it.
2. Rockman
Forgive the last run, punters—back to a mile on the bog and he can roll forward and fight.
4. Pretty Fly
Gets in light after the claim; proven in the slop and the shorter trip is the right racket.
5. David Moss
That Riccarton third was a proper run, chief—loves wet ground and will be charging late.
9. Wild Jakkal
Lightweight roughie with the winkers on; stays all day and can nick a slice in the mud.

DAVID MOSS (5) went huge on both days of the recent Winter Cup carnival at Riccarton, including his last start there when finishing third, in a race he could have won with a tad more luck, He has won here in the past, and would be a well deserved winner of this. SHAMEL EXPRESS (1) has been racing consistently since shifting to the South Island and racing from the beach stable of Amber Hoffman, and with the right run, he should go close to taking this out. ROCKMAN (2) is backing up 6-days after finishing sixth as the favourite at Riccarton over 1400m. He will be a lot sharper now, and can make amends. Follow your money. PRETTY FLY (4) won his penultimate start here before finishing out of the money at Riccarton over 1800m when nearly 6 weeks between runs. She can bounce straight back into the money here. WILD JAKKAL (9) ran the race of an improver at Oamaru 3 weeks ago over 2200m, and a drop back to 1600m should do him no harm. Stick with him for all combos.
