Tony’s shortlist

Fat Tony’s AI picks

1

2. Four Square Pete

Pete’s jump debut was solid and Myers knows the caper—quick backup, Heavy9 suits; my top play, pal.

2

9. Rosina

Fit mare with the light 66kg and proper wet form; if she hops cleanly, she’ll be right in the thick of it.

3

6. Outovstock

Nelson-McDougal debut jumper has been backed in fixed odds—stable whispers say respect the stock.

4

1. Heza Warrior

Already placed twice over this Te Aroha 3100m trip; mud won’t scare him, a fair knockout chance.

5

8. Our Easy Street

Big wet-track mare gets McNeill and only 66kg; first fences are the gamble, but she can snatch a cheque.

Race preview

FOUR SQUARE PETE (2) made a good start to his hurdling career when finishing fourth at Hawera last week, and the quick backup adds to the confidence. Hard to beat this time. OUTOVSTOCK (6) makes his hurdle debut, and he is sure to be well schooled coming from the Nelson/McDougal stable. Follow the market moves. ROSINA (9) is a very consistent mare who will also be making her jumping debut. She is very fit, and handles bad ground with no trouble. If she jumps safely, she has the speed on the flat to win this. DOCTOR LIVINGSTONE (4) had no luck when failing to finish in both runs over jumps at Riccarton earlier in the month, and a form reversal is expected. OUR EASY STREET (8) is a dour mare having her first attempt over hurdles, and we think she is capable of a top 4 finish.
