Tony’s shortlist
Fat Tony’s AI picks
7. Fraudster
Fat Tony says the local young gun is rock-hard fit, drawn to stalk and maps the one to beat.
6. Uptown
Classy Te Akau mare with Pinn aboard; fresh legs and light weight make her a major danger.
3. Rock Ice
Trial win was tidy, mate—fresh 1400m winner with Hashizume is overs in the market.
8. Starlit Express
Grylls, 55.5kg and an improving Taupo third; the extra furlong is right up her alley.
4. Elysian Fields
Inside draw and the 3kg claim can pinch a soft run—sneaky old mare for the exotics.

Race context
Race preview
UPTOWN (6) ended her initial 3-start prep with a nose win at Tauranga in February before having a decent spell. She has had a couple of quiet trials, and stepping out fresh up over 1400m is the key here. On top for us. FRAUDSTER (7) bolted in here just over 2 weeks ago when recording an impressive maiden win by nearly 3 lengths. He has an even better gate this time, and he has the scope to take the next step immediately. ELYSIAN FIELDS (4) was not bad in a stronger field here last start, and with the aid of a 3kg claim, she may may be ridden more positively on this occasion. At her best, she can take this out. SUPER WRAITH (1) could set it up for the third pick if he decides to hold the front, and if he can settle without pulling too hard, then he will give you a great sight. STARLIT EXPRESS (8) ran her best race yet this prep when finishing third at Taupo, and the step up from 1200m to 1400m will suit her. Include in all top 4 combos.
