Tony’s shortlist
Fat Tony’s AI picks
2. Coal River
The young speedster gets 54kg, is flying, and should control the caper from the front—my top pick, punters.
1. Sushi Express
Two-from-two at this track and trip; class runner with Newitt aboard, but the 58kg gives Coal River a sniff.
5. The Longest Yard
Loves this synthetic mile and drops to 54kg—expect him charging late for a juicy quinella spot.
6. Garcon D'Espoir
Honest as the day is long on this surface; overdue, lightweight, and a danger for the exotics.
4. Captain Cam
Synthetic specialist with the featherweight and mile win on record—can sneak into the top five, pal.

Race context
Race preview
Feel the two-pace horses will dominate up front. The up-and-comer is COAL RIVER (2) who is racing well including a last-start all-the-way win at Hobart. Into open class now but drops 4.5kg and in the small field will take catching. SUSHI EXPRESS (1) will be pushing forward as well and looks the toughest to beat. Unbeaten from two tries this course and distance and proven in this class. Will be in it for a long way. THE LONGEST YARD (5) has a good record at this course and distance and drops in the weights for this. Suited by the extra ground and should be tough to stop. GARCON D'ESPOIR (6) is long overdue for a win after a string of placings and sure to measure up again. CAPTAIN CAM (4) kept coming here last time and did win only try this trip.
