Tony’s shortlist
Fat Tony’s AI picks
1. Azonto
Top drawer, punters—flying on the synth and the recent close second says she’s ready to collect.
2. Flossing
Classy old campaigner dropping sharply from open grade; Newitt aboard makes him dangerous.
3. Eaglefurther
Forgive the lame run last time—trial was sound, gets a handy map and carries a tidy impost.
4. Alpine Blast
Track specialist with nine synthetic wins; back to 1650m and light weight gives the old bloke a look.
5. Sugoi Legend
A rough knockout for the exotics, capisce—lightweight and capable of rattling home if they overdo it.

Race context
Race preview
Hard to go past AZONTO (1) who continues to race well. Winner here two back over 1350m when wound up strongly then again hit the line hard here over this trip and just missed. Can go one better. FLOSSING (2) is a nine-year-old having first try this circuit but is well placed this class. Not beaten far in open class last time in Hobart and this much easier. Likewise ALPINE BLAST (4) is a veteran galloper but already has a good record record here. Fourth here last time over a sharper trip and bets for stacks up. EAGLEFURTHER (3) was a Hobart winner two back then well off best last time. Was vetted and found to have pulled up lame in both back legs. Has since trialled well so worth another chance. SUGOI LEGEND (5) has ability and should measure up.
