Tony’s shortlist

Fat Tony’s AI picks

1

9. American Eagle

Fat Tony says the inside draw, wet-track debut win and Zahra make this eagle hard to clip.

2

1. Seize The Day

Proper Kiwi G1 colt, proven in the soft and Shinn can park him beautifully, capisce?

3

10. Aethera

Lightweight filly with a sharp wet-track win; Lane just needs clear air for the late collect.

4

2. Unit Five

Classy Magic Millions winner with solid trials; the fresh tongue tie might find a few lengths.

5

5. Confederation

Ran on well in the Vain and J-Mac takes over—nice exotics chance, my friend.

Race preview

Tough edition of the Mcneil Stakes. SEIZE THE DAY (1) resumes over from New Zealand with a nice profile, beaten at $1.60 on debut before going bang-bang, dominating the G1 Sires Produce from on speed to score by 4.5 lengths at Trentham. Gets a lovely spot for Shinn and can measure right up to these. AMERICAN EAGLE (9) made waves on debut with a strong win at Sandown Hillside in July over Judas Tree who won last week. Did so in good time that day, he'll likely get over further in time but looks plenty talented. AETHERA (10) resumes having burst through late to win well at a big price on debut at Flemington. Didn't beat much there but was impressive and is another that looks like she'll get over further in time. UNIT FIVE (2) resumes having started $5 in the G1 Blue Diamond before a spell. He's a Magic Millions winner and while that form hasn't quite worked out he warrants plenty of respect here. CONFEDERATION (5) was solid first up in the Vain, not sure what to make of that form.
