Tony’s shortlist

Fat Tony’s AI picks

1

11. Sass Appeal

Five wins from six, light weight and likely controls the joint again—very hard to knock, pal.

2

12. Ten Commandments

Proper Soft-track operator, drawn to get the sweet run and arrives in ripping nick.

3

13. Storm Leopard

Classy Derby form, featherweight and Shinn from the inside—dangerous fresh, you mug.

4

5. Craig

Forget the crawl-run sixth; J-Mac, blinkers and a better tempo can spark the rebound.

5

4. Al Duca

Tough on-pace customer with a strong Soft record; forgive the Flemington fade and include.

Race preview

SASS APPEAL (11) clearly on top in the last. She had no weight and led at an absolute crawl first up which isn't much of a guide but she still won and it's not like she can't set a much faster tempo - her win in the G2 Kewney Stakes in the Autumn was very good and she'll take all the catching again. TEN COMMANDMENTS (12) is flying and easy enough to line up. He crossed the line with Rise At Dawn two back who SASS APPEAL beat fresh. TEN COMMANDMENTS then won well here last start in a BM90. He draws nicely to sit just off the speed. ANOTHER WIL (1) resumes off a short spell. His fresh run in the G1 Doomben 10,000 was good before being beaten 0.6 lengths in the G1 Kingsford Smith Cup. Query here is the big weight and carpark barrier. CRAIG (5) finished last (of six) to SASS APPEAL but the sectionals were fine off such a slow speed. He can improve.
