Race preview
ST PADDY (1) resumes from a spell of six months after closing off last campaign in good form, scoring at his last appearance over 1609m at Central Southland Raceway. Sure to enjoy an economical run from this draw. Likely to run a big race to kick off this campaign. FOREVER MIKI (6) impressed when fresh from a spell last start when successful over 1980m at Addington on April 24, getting home by half a metre. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he has the ability to mix it with them. ASHLEY FRANK (9) is one of the main contenders after winning his last two starts, the latest at Addington three-and-a-half weeks ago. Difficult to ignore that sort of form. FLYING ACE (4) is close to a win after two successive placings, the latest a third over 1980m at Addington.
