Race preview
RIPP (10) drew very wide and worked forward before racing parked so was far from disgraced when midfield at his latest appearance at Menangle. Won twice in a row over further here prior but has won four of five attempts at this shorter distance. Take beating. LUX AETERNA (9) faded as a hot favourite in a Riverina Championships heat last start but she is much better than that. Won at Albion Park the outing before and her record at this circuit and distance stands at three from four. Quality mare who draws for a trail. Could produce her best. JORGE STREET (6) is going well having made it two wins in a row at this venue when coming from the second line in a last-start success by 2.4 metres. SMOOTH BUZZ (8) draws out but is racing well including a second to RIPP from this barrier last start and a win from the second line three back.
