CANNAE (4) won a trial at Sandown-Hillside and kicked off his career at the track beaten 2L over 1300m well-supported. He settled at the tail of the field and hit the line in good fashion. Is sure to appreciate the step up to 1500m and Damian Lane sticks aboard. Hard to beat with that effort under the belt. WASHINGTON LILAC (9) placed over 1300m at Seymour first-up and looked a run short. She'll also appreciate the longer trip and has more to give. She's the only filly competing and should be right in it. PEEAITCHDEE (1) resumes and creates plenty of interest. Kicked off his last preparation with a narrow defeat over 1400m on the synthetic and was just beaten his three following over more ground. Has looked tuned up at the Cranbourne jumpouts and stable elect Jordan Childs sticks from those. The betting will be key. SUNBURNT COUNTRY (7) resumed gelded over 1429m at Seymour and went close. Maps for a soft run and is sure to have taken improvement.
